
How to Open or Start MS Word 2007
The starting of MS Word 2007 is same as MS Word 2003. To start MS Word 2007 follow the steps below. Click Start button> Programs or All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Word 2007.

How to do Page Setup

How to Save your documents
After typing your documents you need to save it before you want to exit from SM Word so that you can use your documents later. You can save your document two ways in Microsoft word. Either clicking on Save or Save As from Office button.
The difference between Save and Save As is you cannot save your same document with different name simply clicking on Save option. If you want to save your same document with different name you have to click on Save As and then type the desired name every time you want to save. This is the main difference between Save and Save As.
To save your document click the Office Button (located extremely top of the left corner) > Click Save or Save As > Type desired file name > Now click Save

N.B - If you wish to use your document in MS Word 2003 then you need to change Save as type from Word Document to Word 97-2003 Document and then click Save.
How to Open an existing document
Whenever you wish to use your earlier saved document you can easily use it. To open an existing document in Microsoft word 2007 follow the steps. You can your existing document in three ways.
First Process - First you need to open MS Word 2007 > After opening MS Word 2007 click Office Button (located extremely top of the left corner) > click Open > Browse your desired file > Click Open
Second Process - Press Ctrl + O on the keyboard > Browse your desired file > Click Open
Third Process - Locate the place where your file is located and then either double on it or right click on it and then select Open.
How to Increase font size
To increase the font size you need to do the following steps.
1. First select the font or sentence
2. Click Home tab (if it is not selected) on the menu bar
3. On the Font group, click the grow font button or click on the downward arrow of font size and select from the list

First select the font or sentence and press Ctrl + Shift + > or dot (.) on the keyboard.
How to Decrease font size
To decrease the font size you need to do the following steps.
1. First select the font or sentence

First select the font or sentence and press Ctrl + Shift + < or , on the keyboard.
How to make text UPPERCASE
To make some selected text or sentence or all your sentence uppercase or capital letter do the following steps.
1. First select your sentence
2. Select Home tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
3. On the Font group, click the change case (Aa) button
4. Select UPPERCASE

To make some selected text or sentence or all your sentence lowercase or small letter do the following steps.
1. First select your sentence
2. Select Home tab on the menu bar (if not selected)

To make text bold you need to do the following steps.

4. To insert according to your choice click on Edit Header and place the mouse pointer where you want to insert header.
To insert footer

3. Select the position & style from the list. Scroll down to see more options
4. To insert according to your choice click on Edit Footer and place the mouse pointer where you want to insert footer.
Or
Double click at the header (at the top of the page) & footer (at the bottom of the page) position and insert header and footer.
How to remove Header & Footer
To remove header & footer in MS word 2007 just do the following steps ::
To remove header
1. Click on the Insert tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
2. On the Header & Footer group click on Header
3. Click on Remove Header
To remove footer
1. Click on the Insert tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
2. On the Header & Footer group click Footer
3. Click on Remove Footer

Double click at the header (at the top of the page) & footer (at the bottom of the page) position and delete all the header and footer contents or texts.
How to insert Bullets
To insert bullets in your document click at the position where you want to insert bullets > Select Home tab (if not selected) in the menu bar > click the small downward arrow of the bullets button in the Paragraph group > Select the desired bullets > If you want more bullets then click Define New Bullet… > Click Picture to select picture bullet or click Symbol to insert symbol bullets > Select desired symbol as a bullet > Click O.K. > Click O.K
How to insert Numbers
To insert numbers in your document follow the below steps ::
1. Select the position where you want to insert numbers
2. Select Home tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
3. Click the small downward arrow of the numbering button in the Paragraph group and select the desired one.
4. Click OK
How to change line spacing
To change line spacing in MS Word 2007 you have to perform the following steps ::
1. Select the lines first whose line spacing you want to change
2. You need to select Home tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
3. Click the small downward arrow of the Line Spacing button in the Paragraph group
4. Select the desired one.
5. If you want to insert according to you then click Line Spacing Options..
6. Change the value of Line spacing

How to make text Superscript and Subscript
Superscript and subscript refers to number that are positioned slightly higher or slightly lower than the text on the line. You can do this by two ways. To do so you need to follow the steps below ::
1. Select the text or number that you want to format as superscript or subscript.
2. you need to select Home tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
for superscript - Click X2 in the Font group or Press Ctrl + Shift + = on the keyboard

How to insert Pictures
To do so follow the steps below:
1. First click the pointer where you want to insert a picture
2. Click on the Insert tab on the menu bar
3. Click on the Picture on the Illustrations group
4. Browse and select your desired picture
5. Click on Insert to insert your picture to your word document. Now you need to format your picture so that you can move it through the document.
6. Right click on the image or picture
7. Select Format Picture…
8. Click on Layout
9. Select Tight
10. Click on O.K
How to insert an external Link
You can link any external file like word document, PowerPoint presentation, Excel sheet, audio or video file etc. To link an external file you need to follow the steps ::
1. First place the pointer where you want to insert a link
2. Click on the Insert tab on the menu bar (if not selected)
3. On the Link group, click on the Hyperlink
4. Browse the file that to be linked Against text to display: type the desired word that to be displayed as a link

How to change default file Save format
The file or document you have saved in Microsoft word 2007 is saved with (.docx) format. You can not open those files or documents in Microsoft word 2003. If you want to open those files or documents in Microsoft word 2003 you need to save those files or documents in (.doc) format. You can change the extension when you save your document or you can change the default extension prior to do anything. To change the settings follow the below steps ::
1. Click on Office Button (extremely top of the left)
2. Click Word Options
3. Select Save (located left side)
4. Click small downward arrow to see the list against Save file in this format : (Word document (*.docx)
5. Select Word 97-2003 document (*.doc)
6. Click O.K.
How to change default file save location
You can change the default location from My Documents for all document that will be created in future. To do so you need to follow the steps below ::
1. Click on Office Button (extremely top of the left corner)
2. click Word Options
3. select Save
4. Click Browse and browse your location where you want to save all your word documents by default against your default file location.
5. Click O.K.
