How to Disable / Remove Windows 8 Lock Screen

Windows 8 is covered with login and logout lock screen. Every time you login or logout you need to click on that screen to login or logout. If you wish you can remove this lock screen from windows 8 so that you can login or logout directly.


Step 1

The easiest process is to remove or disable this lock screen, just type netplwiz on the start screen to open User Accounts dialogue box. Once User Account dialogue box opens just uncheck the check box against "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" and then click OK. After that you have to enter the password twice and click OK. Now restart your system.

Step 2

You need to open User Accounts dialogue box which can also be opened from Run. Click Desktop app on start screen and press windows key + R to open Run. Type netplwiz on the search box space and then click OK. User Accounts dialogue box opens. Now you just need to Uncheck the ckeck box against Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and then click OK. Type your password twice and then click OK. Now restart your system.
     

Later whenever you wish to change your mind, just follow the process and reset lock screen again. To reset, just do the above process and select check box against Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and then do the rest part.
