How To Use Different Page Orientation in Same Document in LibreOffice / OpenOffice Writer

LibreOffice is a free and open source office suite application software used in Linux and developed by The Document Foundation. LibreOffice contains word processor (Writer), spreadsheet (Calc), presentation application (Impress), drawing application (Draw), formula editor (Math), and database management application (Base). The default file format of LibreOffice writer is .odt (Open Document Text). LibreOffice is an alternate of Microsoft office for Linux.

Similarly, OpenOffice is an alternate of LibreOffice for Windows computer which is also free and open source office suite application software, developed by Sun Microsystem and the first version of open office was released in 2002. OpenOffice also contains word processor (Writer), spreadsheet (Calc), presentation application (Impress), drawing application (Draw), formula editor (Math), and database management application (Base)

In this post you will learn how to use different page orientation within same document in OpenOffice or LibreOffice writer. So let's start.


Steps to make 2nd page landscape

Step 1. At first open LibreOffice Writer.

Step 2. Suppose you want to create a four page document looks like the above image. 1st page is portrait, 2nd page is landscape, 3rd page is portrait and 4th page is again portrait. Now to make the 2nd page is as portrait, at first you need to click on the 1st page.

Step 3. After that click Insert button in the menu bar and then click Manual Break....



Step 4. After that a new Insert Break pop-up windows opens. Here you have to change the style to Landscape. To change the style click [None] and select Landscape.


Step 5. Finally, click OK.

Now the 2nd page becomes landscape.

Steps to make 3rd page portrait

Step 1. Again, if you wish to make the 3rd page as portrait then at first you need to click on the 2nd page. After that click Insert button in the menu bar and then click Manual Break....

Step 2. After that a new Insert Break pop-up windows opens. Here you have to change the style to Default Style. To change the style click [None] and select Default Style.

Step 3. Finally, click OK.

Now the 3rd page becomes port.

Steps to make 4th page landscape

Step 1. Similarly if you wish to make the 4th page is as landscape then at first you need to click on the 3rd page. After that click Insert button in the menu bar and then click Manual Break....

Step 2. After that a new Insert Break pop-up windows opens. Here you have to change the style to Landscape. To change the style click [None] and select Landscape.

Step 3. Finally, click OK.

Now the 4th page becomes landscape.

In this way you you can use different pay orientation within same document in LibreOffice writer or OpenOffice writer.
