How To Setup AdSense Page Level Ads

Google has updated a new ad format called Page-level ads. This Page-level ads feature is still in beta. Most of the bloggers already experienced with responsive ad unit , custom ad unit size and Custom search engine. And now the time is to experience Page-Level ads. Whats New in Page-level Ads

Page-level ads are a family of ad formats that offers a new and innovative way to monetize website content. Publishers need to add the ad code once per page where they want to show the ads. Once publishers added the code, Ad Exchange will automatically show Page-level ads at optimal times. This Page-level ads are only for mobile sites and it offers two kinds of  ads Anchor/overlay and Vignette ad formats.

Anchor / overlay ads : - Anchor / overlay ads are a kind of sticky ad which stick to the edge of the mobile screen and are easy to dismiss.

Vignette ads :- Vignette ads are a kind of full page ads that appear between page loads on a website / blog which can be skipped by the user. Read also : How to Fix HTTP and HTTPS Mixed Content Errors.

 How To Enable Page-level Ads

Page-level Ads are currently in beta and it is not available for all. If you notice Page-level ads in your Google AdSense account, you can manually enable it to experience this new innovative ad formats to your website / blog. To enable this feature just click on My Ads and then click Page-level Ads.

Now to enable Anchor / overlay ads and Vignette ads, toggling the switch marked as 3 and 4 in the above image. You can enable one or both ads at the same time. Once you are done, scroll down and click Get code marked as 5 in the above image. Read also : How to Make Money from Google Apps.

Now copy the code and then paste the code in the <head> tag (or at the top of the <body>) of the pages where you want to show the ads.

How to use Page-level Ads for Blogger Blogs

To use the Page-level ads on your blogger blog, you just need to paste the code inside the template just after <head> tag or before </head> tag. After pasting the code after <head> tag or before </head> tag when you click Save Template to save the changes in the template, you will get the following errors. Error parsing XML, line 1513, column 15: Attribute name "async" associated with an element type "script" must be followed by the ' = ' character.

Now replace the async with async='' and then click Save Template.

How To Test Page-level ads

After doing all the above steps, its time to test the ads. To test the ads, open your site in mobile browser and add #googleads at the end of url to see the ads in action. For example or   Read also : How to get 100 GB Google Drive space.

Testing Anchors Ad

To test the page level ads on your mobile you just need to add #googleads at the end of your blog's URL. Once the page is loaded, you will see Google page-level ads i.e, ANCHORS and VIGNETTES on your mobile screen. Just tab ANCHORS to see the anchor ad and by default anchor ad is displayed at the bottom of the mobile screen and if users wan to dismiss the ad then users need to simply slide the grippy bar to dismiss the anchor ad.

Testing Vignettes ads

Now to test vignettes ads just tab VIGNETTES option. Once you tab VIGNETTES, all links on that page that are capable of showing a vignette are marked in purple and outlined. You can also able to see the number of total capable vignette links on that page. Click on any one to see a vignette ad that covers full page of your blog. Its a good decision by Google to develop Page-level ads as the mobile user is rapidly increasing. Adding Page-level ads on your blog / website boost your earning from your blog / website. Read also : How lock / track lost mobile phone and erase data remotely.

One of the drawback of the page level ads that doesn't support on Opera Mini or UC Browser. When I have tested on Opera Mini, I got some errors message for Anchors ad and Vignette ads.

 "This page can not display anchor ads for the following reason(s):
  • The viewport is not between 320 and 420 pixels wide.
  • The current browser is not supported."
To resolve the viewport issue, you need to replace the blogger's default meta tag with the below meta tag. Read also : How to submit Blogger Sitemap to search engines.
